Online Metronome

How the online metronome works

Set your tempo with the BPM slider or by typing a value (20–300), pick a time signature, and press Start. Beats are scheduled against the Web Audio clock, so the pulse stays steady even when the tab is busy.

• Tap tempo: tap the Tap tempo button in time with the music; the average of your last taps becomes the new BPM. Taps stop counting after a 3 second pause.
• Time signatures: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8 change how many beats make a bar; the first beat of each bar plays a higher click and the beat dots refill per bar.
• Volume: adjust the click loudness with the volume slider.
• Keyboard: press Space to start or stop (when focus is not in a field).

BPM, time signature and volume are remembered on this device only when the "remember tool data" setting is enabled.

Everything runs locally — no account, no upload, and no network request while the metronome runs.
