Convert Hanzi to pinyin
Paste or type Chinese text and it is converted to pinyin instantly. Context-aware segmentation resolves polyphones correctly, so 重庆 becomes chóng qìng and 银行 becomes yín háng. Choose full pinyin or extract only the initials of each character.
Tones and separators
Three tone styles are available: tone marks (nǐ hǎo), numeric tones (ni3 hao3), and no tones (ni hao). Set any separator between syllables with the free-text field or the quick presets for space, none, hyphen, and apostrophe.
Keeping English and numbers
Latin words, numbers, punctuation, and line breaks are preserved exactly and can be toggled independently. Turn off "Keep English" or "Keep numbers" to strip them, which is useful when preparing filenames or slugs from mixed content.
Advanced options
Surname mode prioritizes common Chinese surname readings such as 曾 as zēng, traditional mode accepts traditional characters, and the ü to v option outputs lv instead of lü for typing and filename use.
Batch conversion
Switch to File mode to drop one or many .txt, .md, .srt, or .csv files. Each file is converted in a Web Worker, read in chunks, and can be downloaded individually or packed into a single zip.
Privacy
Everything runs locally in your browser. Your text and files are never uploaded or stored on a server.
