SQL Formatter

Format and minify SQL queries in your browser with common database dialects. SQL is never executed or uploaded.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded.

What does this tool do?

This tool formats SQL queries for readability and can collapse formatted SQL into a compact form. It supports common dialects including PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, Transact-SQL, and BigQuery.

How to format SQL

  1. Paste a query into the input panel.
  2. Choose the SQL dialect.
  3. Select keyword case and indentation options.
  4. Format or minify the query, then copy or download the result.

Formatting does not execute the query, connect to a database, validate permissions, or prove that the query is correct for your schema.

Privacy and safety

SQL is processed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded. Do not paste production credentials or secrets into any tool unnecessarily. Input is limited to 1 MB.

Dialects

The selected dialect controls keywords, quoting conventions, operators, and other formatting details. When a query uses vendor-specific syntax, choose the matching dialect for the best result.
