XOR Encrypt / Decrypt

Obfuscate text or files with a simple XOR cipher and a key locally in your browser. Built for learning and light obfuscation.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded.

The key bytes are repeated across the input and XORed with each byte. The result is Base64 text.

Plaintext
Ciphertext (Base64)

Not secure: XOR with a repeating key is easy to break and is meant only for obfuscation or learning. Use AES for anything sensitive.

XOR Encrypt / Decrypt

Apply a simple XOR cipher to text or files with a key of your choice. The key bytes repeat across the input and are XORed with each byte, which makes the operation reversible: running it twice with the same key returns the original data. Encrypted text is emitted as Base64.

Security warning

XOR with a repeating key is not secure. It can be broken with frequency analysis, so use it only for light obfuscation, CTF exercises, or learning how ciphers work. For anything sensitive, use the AES tool instead.

File and text modes

Encrypt or decrypt text directly in the two panes, or switch to file mode to turn any file into a .xor payload and back. Everything runs locally in your browser.
